Another thing that’s really sad about some of the people who audition is that in some cases their families are delusional too and give them encouragement. They talk as if the judges have no idea what they’re talking about when they criticize their son/daughter/niece/nephew/whatever and act like they’re just being jerks.
Did you know that Sweden and Canada have American Idol singers that play Metal…look it up.
1. I think its about 4 out of 10. i think the deliberate jokers outnumber the real morons.

I actually used to watch entire seasons of the show with my mom when I was younger, and out of all those seasons, not once have I seen Simon be an asshole to any of the contestants. Without his fair, and truthful criticism, no-one would have any motivation to actually improve because Paula and Randy are either wrong or are too busy kissing ass to generate applause from the idiot audience that actually pays to see this crap.

thats would probably make for a better show
over some point of time, american idol will end up focusing all its energy on the auditions, in later years, beacause that part is the part that is the most lucrative portion of every season, each contestant pays to audititon, most of them dont even do anything serious, so the judges dont even have to think, and thats the part with the highest ratings , so at some point the auditions will become the whole show

2. I’ve heard they have contracted 3 more seasons, but im thinking this will be the last…They already are getting poor ratings…The current set of judges are the best they are going to have. Anyone up for African Idol?
3. I think those people who overestimate their own talent are those people who set their standards low enough to not care about what anyone else thinks.

1)My guess is that not many. They can’t go all they’re lives without somebody hurting their feeling by saying they suck. The ones that ignore it, are deluded.
2) We only had 2 or 3 seasons here Portugal I think, so its already over. Don’t know the situation in the US, but doesn’t it get boring after the second time around? I think that’s why it ended.
Have a blog about crazy co-workers you’ve had. That’s what that 2:10-2:15 time frame was referring to.

Hey Peter, here are my answers to your questions.
1. More or less whole lot of them do it for the TV, at least for those who are already “artists” they hope it will give them more exposure.
2. I think they’ll try to switch judges when all three are tired of their jobs or get into some sorta scandal, and that’s when Idol will finally jump the shark.
3. Because it makes them feel like they have a meaning to their existence. Just like fundamentalist whackos.
